It's the most wonderful time of the year... They'll be parties for hosting, boots made for boasting and jackets to love. We're, of course, talking about the Spring/Summer 2019 sale!

As it gets underway from our favourite retailers, we've decided to cut through the noise to chart pieces we're touting as must-haves.

’s shell-embellished summer heels instantly remind me that the sun and sea are restorative – and they get me in a holiday frame of mind when trudging around the urban jungle! Meanwhile, you all know I love a good blazer and with its straps that wraparound, Gabriela Hearst’s jacket is that great classic with a twist.

I’m also starting to feel brogues are about to have a big moment, so I’m going to be investing in these Church's for a timeless version that’ll work all year round with suits and dresses. Plus, I’ll be rounding the haul off with Jin Soon’s glitter white nail polish – just one coat of this gives you a shimmer you'll keep looking at; two coats and you'll be a beacon in the city.

Tie-dye has been having its moment for some time now; admittedly, I'm slightly late to the party. It wasn't until last week when I made my own T-shirt with tie-dye expert, Lizzie King, that I really got it... And now, I'm obsessed! Ashley Williams's 'marbled' tie-dye effect A-line skirt satiates this new-found obsession. The parfait accomplices? Ring and stirrup Western boots from Vetements and & Other Stories' pink utilitarian vest for an idiosyncratic look if I've ever seen one.

Meanwhile, other fun pairings for the Western style arrive from Ganni's light wash wide-leg jeans and Cult Gaia's bustier number, complete with its sweetheart neckline and lime green colourway.

For those days that you need to look effortlessly chic but you're running against the clock, & Other Stories' chiffon floral skirt is a must for a pretty and polished look. However, if you're looking to make more of an entrance, Ganni's boots are not for the faint-hearted! Featuring all my favourite shoe elements – a Western aesthetic, thigh-high credentials and cream croc-embossed leather – they're really tugging at my heartstrings!

Then there's the Hawaiian shirt; with his oversized iteration, Richard Quinn has once more made the icon en vogue... Dads, rejoice! Elsewhere, taking a detour and swerving down the more avant-garde route, MM6 Maison Margiela has updated their T-shirt dress. With a colourful printed scarf cinching everything in at the waist, this staple is instantly more flattering than your average T-shirt dress. Then the finale is definitely one of the more tame items on this list: Ports 1961's mini tote bag is a practical yet beautifully designed dream. I love its classic colour and boxy shape – and I can see it being my partner in crime, looking after all of my essentials as I run around the city.
