Plato first said that necessity is the mother of invention, and he wasn't wrong. Now in our ninth week of working from home, the Because team have been discussing the things that keep us sane and optimistic in these uncertain days. As a platform for sharing the things you should care about, we've wondered how we do that in a light-hearted way.

We all agree that what keeps us happy, makes us cheerful and fosters our dreams is in fact the act of celebrating desirable things made by creative people – objects we could happily treasure – and sharing the manifestations of ideas that become reality.

So as we are taking care in our homes, we bring you our newest feature, Fantasy Wardrobes, shot at home and, with a little digital magic, layered with some of our favourite pieces we've found online. So with a bit of invention and a lot of necessity, we hope to show that the online world is our oyster and do Plato proud.

The sun is out! The sun is out! And how lucky are we that we've had so much sun these lockdown months – so it's hat time! I tend to have short-brimmed hats, but when I saw this dramatic sweep of a raffia Gucci hat, I wanted to try it on for size. And I'm SOLD! May this weather continue so that I can forget thinking about maintaining my grey roots and jaunt a hat on!

Carmen Bellot, Junior Fashion Editor
There's something nostalgic for me about a bucket hat. Whether it be from looking at baby photo's where one was forced upon me on sunny days, or from seeing it on the heads of the 90s stars I used for style inspo as a young teen – I'm still reminiscent of the fluffy Kangol days – a bucket hat will always be favoured for being worn on many trips down memory lane. This week's Fantasy Wardrobe seemed an apt opportunity to be reacquainted with the style, and this Jennifer Behr hat couldn't be a more pearl-fect option.

Nasreen Osman, Project Co-Ordinator
To be honest, I've never really been a hat person. It's always served a somewhat functional purpose in my life rather than a style one. They've been my trusty shield from the sun during my hiking days and a handy coverup for bad hair days. So I knew that for this fantasy wardrobe, I wanted to forgo my usual and pick a bucket hat. I've always admired the style mavens who could pull it off without looking like they have an oddly-shaped head but now that I see how this Ruslan Baginskiy one fits, I'm reconsidering my past choices.

Another day another fantasy workout appropriate outfit. During these sunny days we're all enjoying our free hour of outside exercise a lot more than we probably ever thought we would. What better way to stay safe, healthy and stylish than with a brand new designer sportswear collaboration? This hat from Victoria Beckham x Reebok is the perfect partner to your daily exercise.
