Us Brits have always marched to the beat of our own drum when it comes to style, with the sartorial tune that is synonymous with our nation's fashion scene ringing 'eclectic chic but with a rebellious edge'. But when it comes to dressing for warmer weather, we're at a miss – probably because we so rarely get it – and have often looked to our European neighbours for outfit inspiration that's suitable for the balmy temperatures we seldom get.

To be steered in the right direction is always welcome, and this season, Matches Fashion have taken the wheel with their new capsule collection in collaboration with Issimo. Whilst we've known Matches to be the online destination of luxury for decades now, Issimo is quickly building itself an akin reputation. The latest venture for Marie-Louise Sciò, CEO and Creative Director of the instinctively Italian Pellicano Hotels, it reflects her passion for Italian excellence and quality through insightful features, articles and interviews on style, design, culture, food, and travel tips, as well as exclusive Issimo collaborations – call it the digital casa of Italian effervescence.

And what better inspiration point for your summer wardrobe than the country that evokes it so well? "Italian style is natural and effortless," shares Marie-Louise. "It is understated elegance." Which is clearly shown in the capsule that spans over swimwear, homeware, handbags, nightwear and ready-to-wear. Five labels – "I love all the brands that I work with and this is what basically draws me to them!" – including accessory stalwart Anya Hindmarch and purveyor of Italian heritage RTW Loretta Caponi, have collaborated with Marie-Louise to create a capsule that looks to the al fresco lifestyle within the mediterranean country, but is equally apt to reside in the gloomier British Isles. Marie-Louise sees the collection as filled with forever pieces, "you can wear them day and night, anywhere: they are timeless and place-less." And with their vivacious colour palette it's an easy way of bringing Italian energy into your outfits and home, "adding some Italian style to your home is all about incorporating some of the vibrant hues found in nature," explains Marie-Louise.

Whether you're in want of swimwear in a lemon sorbet shade, or a silk kaftan that's based on the antique tapestries which decorate the Ladispoli hotel’s lavish salons, this capsule is your safest and socially-distanced snippet of Italy. Bellissimo!
