As we all adjust to our newly conflated living/working conditions - the stream of conference call notifications and emails, general noise of children/flatmates/partners/dogs in the background, endless cups of tea and futile attempts to resist the biscuit tin, we've asked our creative friends – today we have Mickey Ashmore, founder of Sabah – to share with us their personal "Working From Home" spaces, to share with you. So have a nosey poke around...

I'm staying sane these days by...
Keeping busy with work, but also finding time to cook proper recipes from the cookbooks we've collected but have never found the time to use, working out at home and staying fit, going on a run outside when the weather is nice, playing a lot of backgammon with my partner, Aïtana. And then on a Sunday, Sabah hosted a digital dance party (aka Sabah Sunday, which usually takes place IRL in our NYC studio) for our friends, customers and broader community. It's a ton of fun! We had a great DJ streaming live for 2 hours. People really danced, there were close to 150 participants and we were 'dancing for donations' – we made a donation to 'No Kid Hungry' for every person that attended. That felt good; to dance, to connect with friends and see familiar faces, there was a semblance of normalcy and shared joy that has been missing. Doing it for a good cause was the cherry on top.

My workspace must include the following in order for me to feel calm, creative and productive:
Good light and quiet, calm music on the speakers. It also needs to be organised, minimal with not too much clutter. I like to be surrounded by greenery and some nice colourful art for inspiration.

We've turned our dining room table into our work station and our house has honestly never felt better. I've been more productive here than I am at the office! :)

I'm staying optimistic because...
That's the only way to be, and there's always a silver lining if you choose to find one and believe it. But the silver lining isn't given to you, it is indeed realised. You must make it happen, in my opinion. So I've been trying to identify those opportunities, focus on them, and of course, at the same time, do my best to mitigate the risks and downside here.
