French Fashion Mixed with British Heritage

What... Saint Laurent x Hunter Wellies

Why… Because who said country-wear needn't be covetable

Living in the big smoke doesn't usually require having a pair of wellies within your wardrobe; with a lack of begrimed terrain getting 'stuck in the mud' is a dilemma reserved only for the playground. But with a rise in those vacating to the countryside to retreat during lockdown, the wellington boot has been adorned a few more times than the regular iteration this festive season. And to do so in style – because leaving London needn't mean leaving our love of fashion behind – we've got the Saint Laurent and Hunter collaboration to stride forward in.

While it may be a seemingly random pairing, both brands are equally steeped with fashion kudos. Founded in 1856, Hunter gained celebrity acclaim when their wellies were spotted on the likes of Kate Moss and Alexa Chung, as the boot became their (and subsequently the nations) go-to festival shoe. Fast forward to 2020 and their partnering with the iconic french maison has increased their cool credentials exponentially. Adorned in studs and classically kept in a shade of noir to boot, they're the punk-esque update of the original shoe. We'll be giving it some welly when it comes to footwear from now on.
