What… A Rave Review Coat

Why… Because up-cycling has never been so chic

Rave Review’s pastel coats are handcrafted from repurposed vintage wool blankets sourced from the label’s native Sweden. Quietly colourful, the coral pink, pale cyan and subtle sage green florals are a gentle remedy to the monotony of greige wintertime apparel (and reminder of the spring to come).

Josephine Bergqvist and Livia Schück co-founded Rave Review in 2017. All their designs are produced entirely out of pre-existing fabrics and clothes. Deconstruction and reinterpretation are central to the label’s philosophy.

They explain, “Our aesthetic is born out of mixing and swapping context and materials. It comes very naturally when working with pre-existing materials—we use well known and nostalgic textiles in a new and contemporary way.”

One of the first luxury fashion brands with a circular business model from the getgo, they only work with recycled and recyclable materials. In 2018, the Swedish Fashion Council awarded Rave Review its Changer Award and the label went on to win the H&M and Elle Newcomer Award the following year.

These coats manage to be both cheering and serene and while we love their comfy, oversized fit, we think  it best to pair them with slim lines for a fun contrast.
