Since they launched six years ago, Aeyde have been one of the go-to shoe brands for minimalists, producing a selection of staples that transcend through hype trends and remain a favourite for years. Now, co-founder and creative director Luisa Dames is adding to her footwear stable and designing jewellery. "Our Fall-Winter 2021 jewellery collection is a step into developing Aeyde into a true accessories house, something that I have envisioned for the brand from the start," explains Luisa. "Jewellery is the perfect addition to our core range, as this adds something very special to any outfit. A piece of jewellery can dress up or down a look, you can wear it from day to night or on a special occasion. Just as shoes, jewellery helps to define an outfit."

The collection consists of 34 earrings, all of which are inspired by the Leandra boot; one of their most iconic designs that brings an element of elegance to whatever outfit it's paired with. When designing the collection, Luisa's focus was to create pieces that would easily complement the Aeyde woman. This also boils down to the materials that are being used. "All the metals we work with are fully upcycled, including the 18 karat gold and silver palladium we use to coat the brass base of our pieces. Everything is sourced, processed and handmade in Europe," shares Luisa. This is continuing the Aeyde ethos of a sustainable production model and a slower pace of sartorial consumption. "I want to be mindful of the way materials are sourced for Aeyde and I loved the idea of using metals that are already in circulation."

Bowed shapes, pairings of silver and gold, and of course, your classic chunky hoop fill the collection, giving more than enough choice for your day-to-day earring options. What should we expect next? "There will be more coming next spring, when we extend the range to necklaces, wristbands and bracelets." We wait in anticipation.
