Synonymous with colour and femininity, the London-based brand Clements Ribeiro is making a comeback! Injecting fun and bold prints into the early 90s luxury fashion landscape, the brand established by husband and wife duo Inacio Ribeiro and Suzanne Clements wound down in 2014; Now the label is re-launching under the sole creative direction of Inacio.

So why was now the right time to break a seven year hiatus? Well, according to Inacio, "I felt ready for it, after years of consulting as a fashion director. I also had the strong sense that the post-pandemic world called for colour and joy." The debut Resort 22 collection delivers that exuberant wave of colour that only Clements Ribeiro can do with its colour combinations and directional lines. While Inacio is well versed in this visual language, he continues to draw fresh inspiration from his interest in art; Kenneth Nolan inspires the "chevrons and provided a scaffolding for the initial colour combinations," and in Inacio's own words: "Rothko for me is like medicine."

The vibrant collection couldn't come at a more apt time as we re-acquaint ourselves with the chilly air and dark skies because not only do the clothes literally brighten the days ahead but the cashmere knitwear is bound to keep us cosy and snug, too. Reconsider your dark-coloured coats and neutral knits because in Inacio's eyes "people want to wear something energising and celebratory, and my prescription is to go for at least one piece of intensely saturated colour. It has the effect of a blast of sunlight. We all need that right now," he explains. And we would agree – wearing the colours of the rainbow feels like a pretty good replacement of the sun right now!

What is a book that you always come back to and why?

At any given time I could list a dozen in a heartbeat, but I'll settle today on Wallace Stevens' Harmonium.

What is your morning ritual like?
I wake up at 6am, have a short meditation session and do note taking. At 7:45 I take my daughter to the tube and walk for an hour listening to a book on audible. By the time I set to work by 9:30 I'm in a good place. (Did I mention 4 mugs of black coffee?)

What is the best piece of advice you've received?
Dream big, act small.

What is an ongoing goal of yours?
To never stop learning, never stop striving.

What's your party trick?
I’m extremely double jointed and can bend my fingers backwards flat.

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would it be?
Maldives, please.

Name something that you're grateful for.
Having moved to London, where my life begun anew.

Name three things that you can't live without.
My pen, my phone and a corkscrew.
