The spring 2024 edition of Shanghai Fashion Week wrapped Monday, with more than 100 brands showcasing their latest collections to a hoard of buyers and press. With lots of buzz around the city, following major activations by Kering, Harrods and Stella McCartney, who made her debut this season hot on the heels of showing in Paris, SHUSHU/TONG closed Shanghai Fashion Week with a bang!

Founded by design duo, Liushu Lei (ShunShun) and Yutong Jiang (TongTong), for SS24 the brand presented a collection of cute lace separates and sheer layering, sure to capture the imaginations of the Gen-Z loyalists the brand has steadily attracted as it nears a decade of inception.

We caught up with them to find out more…

Describe your SS24 collection in 3 words...
Transparent, Lace, Fearless.

Name one person, living or dead, that you would want to wear the collection.
Tina Chow.

What are your pre-show rituals?
Trying to relax by using two different beauty face masks the night before.

What were you listening to pre-show?
Hong Kong singer Qianhua Yang.

What is the first thing on your show-day packing list/in your bag?
Normally my vape, but I lost it earlier.

What's your favourite piece in the collection and why?
Look 56, an all-lace transparent dress. This really mirrors the image of the girl I want to describe throughout the SS24 collection.

What outfit did you wear on show day?
Shushu: white tee and black shorts. Tongtong: a Grey embroidered cardigan and a pleated skirt, both from the AW23 collection.

How did you celebrate when the show was over?
We were too exhausted to celebrate as the show began at 10 pm. We went straight to sleep after we chose the runway pictures.

What is it about Shanghai that continues to energize your creativity?
Our friends, they are our spiritual family.

What drives you to keep making clothes?
I love the work I do and can imagine myself doing this for the rest of my life.
