Whether you were born in the Lunar Year of the dog, bunny, horse, or pig, 2024 – the ferocious year of the dragon, will supposedly bring good luck, prosperity, and positive change for all (yes, to all the above please!). And what better way to use some of that newfound prosperity than to indulge in one of the Lunar New Year offerings from fashion and beauty brands like Self Portrait, Laura Mercier, Burberry, or Levi’s?

Adopting the spirit of the Chinese New Year, which kicks off officially tomorrow, with new product and campaign launches, these new launches will help you leave the energy of last year behind and start afresh whilst also putting together some great new get-ups. So, crack open a fortune cookie and explore our favourite Lunar New Year capsule collections.

Burberry
Burberry is blazing into the year of the dragon with another Lunar New Year capsule, but this time in the style of its exciting new rebrand guided by creative director Daniel Lee. After the success of the Shanghai instalment of the “Burberry Streets” city-wide takeover back in October, the new collection brings the West of the East once more, with a collection that adopts British wardrobe staples such as the houndstooth check and the English rose but colours them in vibrant, shades traditionally associated with good luck and prosperity in China. Burberry brand ambassadors Tang Wei and Chen Kun take to the streets of Chengdu in southwestern China in a new campaign to showcase the capsule.

Penhaligon's
Penhaligon's is ringing in the Year of the Dragon with The Lucky Portraits limited-edition scent library. Bundled inside the decorative box, fit with a dragon motif, inside you can discover a world of fragrant fortune. With everything from Revenge of Lady Blanche and The Coveted Duchess Rose to Much About The Duke and Changing Constance. Stash a miniature bottle in your bag for top-ups on the go.

Charles & Keith
This year, Singaporean brand Charles & Keith take an environmental approach to their lunar collection. Adorable accessories are rendered in recycled jacquard satin in a festive pallet of fuschia, baby pink, crimson, white, and black. Our personal faves are the Mary Jane pumps and sporty platform sandals – each with their own blooming brocade.

Self Portrait
Actress Carina Lau and model Ling Tan come together for Self Portrait’s Lunar New Year capsule. The duo wear the brand’s contemporary take on the Chinese cheongsam and other classic silhouettes rendered in indulgent crepes, laces, and knits.

Levi’s
There’s no denying that denim is a classic wardrobe staple, but we all know that it can sometimes feel a bit boring too. In the year of the dragon, Levi’s brings us a Lunar New Year collection that injects some fire into our trusted denim. Red snap buttons accent a Jackson worker shirt, while a Lunar New Year graphic embellishes a knit scarf, denim tote, and relaxed-fit trucker. Enjoy the familiarity of their classic Gold Selvage 501s, Slim Taper 512s, Stay Loose Carpenter 568s, and the Taper 502s, but with red-hot flair.

Laura Mercier
Achieve a mythical makeup look with Laura Mercier’s Lunar New Year collection. This festive triptych comes in red dragon-printed packaging, perfect for adding a pop of colour to your dresser. The rose glow caviar stick duo adds a shimmer to the eyes, the translucent loose setting powder sets the face to perfection, and the blush colour infusion flushes the cheeks with a fiery pink.

Valentino
There’s only one mega brand that springs to mind when you see the colour red, and it’s Valentino. This Lunar New Year the brand is bringing new meaning to its signature shade, infusing it with the prosperity the colour represents in Chinese tradition. Valentino’s Lunar New Year capsule reimagines ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories in joyous hues, sported by brand ambassadors Yang Yang and Yang Zi.
