Plato first said that "necessity is the mother of invention", and he wasn't wrong. In our fourth week of working from home, the Because team have been discussing the things that keep us sane and optimistic in these uncertain days. As a platform for sharing the things you should care about, we've wondered how we do that in a light-hearted way.

We all agree that what keeps us happy, makes us cheerful and fosters our dreams is in fact the act of celebrating desirable things made by creative people – objects we could happily treasure – and sharing the manifestations of ideas that become reality.

So as we are taking care in our homes, we bring you our newest feature, Fantasy Wardrobes, shot at home and, with a little digital magic, layered with some of our favourite pieces we've found online. So with a bit of invention and a lot of necessity, we hope to show that the online world is our oyster and do Plato proud.

I love a classic cateye shape, and this Persol version with the horn-rimmed frames and metallic, reflective lenses give a sense of old school hollywood glamour meeting the Matrix, which I'm into.

Carmen Bellot, Junior Fashion Editor
If there's one trend that keeps coming back, and one that I can't help but buy into; it's the 70s aesthetic. Subsequently, it's no surprise that these yellow-tinted, tortoise shell KALEOS pair have ended up in my fantasy shopping basket, and as I imagine them complementing the entirety of my wardrobe, they may even make the transfer from imaginary to reality.

With all the fantasising and daydreaming we are doing, there is one thing we don't have to dream up: cloudless blue skies and plenty of sunshine! Despite only being able to enjoy it in my backyard, it presents the perfect excuse to indulge in some fantasy sunglasses shopping. These oval Ray Ban's are the perfect twist to a classic crowd pleaser - simple, elegant and with a hint of retro flair.

Nasreen Osman, Project Co-Ordinator
I never thought I would get more use out of my sunglasses in the backyard the last few days than on holidays somewhere tropical. But in my made-up holiday fantasy, I envision myself roaming street markets and galleries in these gorgeous Dior round sunglasses. They're the perfect size - the round silhouette big enough to shield my eyes from UV damage but small enough to frame my face. I can't help but feel that when we come out of this, our sartorial decisions will gravitate towards the understated – something simple yet special and when you look closely, you'll notice something new. Strangely, these sunglasses make me long for post-lockdown days more than the sunny days themselves.
