As we all adjust to our newly conflated living/working conditions - the stream of conference call notifications and emails, general noise of children/flatmates/partners/dogs in the background, endless cups of tea and futile attempts to resist the biscuit tin - we've asked our creative friends – today we have the founder of Vilhelm Parfumerie Jan Vilhelm Ahlgren – to share with us their personal "Working From Home" spaces to share with you. So have a nosey poke around...

By being with my family  and playing a lot with my daughter Vivenne. It's so much fun and she gives so much  joy and happiness and I must say she is my biggest remedy against feeling down. I find my inspiration in my daughter and my loved ones more than ever now.



My workspace must include the following in order for me to feel calm, creative and productive:

I need good jazz music - Miles Davies is my favourite artist. And I need some paint and paper - my favourite mode of expression. I brought home all my lab perfume samples, too! Even though the production process has slowed down,  I keep on working on the new products.  All my creative mess has simply moved with me from the office to my home, even though I cleaned it up a bit before the photo I took to share with all of you : ) Also, we’ve been lucky so far to have lots of sun and light in Paris since the lockdown. All this helps to stay calm, creative and productive.



I'm staying optimistic because...
Well, of course these are difficult times and it feels surreal.  It makes you appreciate the smaller things and despite all the tragedy I do think our dear planet Earth will get a break to breathe. I also must say I am very lucky to have such great work colleagues at Vilhelm Parfumerie - we are really supporting each other to the maximum, even though it’s home office for everyone.
