Our predilection for #FaceFurniture has existed way before the trend for extravagant Zoom accessories erupted, and with another lockdown in full swing, it seems our lobes will be continuing to do their fair share of heavy lifting over the next few weeks.

Much like the community spirit the nation experienced during the first lockdown, this season has seen many different accessory aficionados join forces to create creative contraptions that are too delightful not to wear on every video-call occasion.

Picking nominations for this week’s #FaceFurniture wasn’t easy – honourable mentions include the new collection from Emilia Wickstead and Jessica McCormack and ARKET’s first jewellery launch designed by Oslo-based designer Zuzana Spustova – but below is our duo of favourites that’ll bring your Zoom looks from zero to hero.

Colville x Valeria Bersanetti
Craftsmanship has always been at the core of Colville, and with the concept of collaboration cemented firmly within the brand’s ethos, you’ll find it hard to find a brand that cares so much about what they’re creating. Continuing an ongoing collaboration between jewellery designer, Valeria Bersanetti, and Colville, this season presents a collection of jewellery that reflects an equilibrium of their respective aesthetics. The star of the show? These red resin earrings whose calamari-inspired shape gives new meaning to a sartorial snack.

Nanushka x Alighieri
What happens when two of Because’s favourite brands collaborate? Well, after a quick exclamation of excitement from the team, we get to work seeing what can be best paired with the capsule. And with the latest offerings from sustainable stalwarts, Nanushka and Dante-inspired jewellery brand Alighieri, there wasn’t much work to be done. Hand-cast in London’s Hatton Garden, the brand’s respective founders, Sandra Sandor and Rosh Mahtani worked together on a capsule that evokes what it means to be a woman in modern society. While on first glance, you may think these 24 ct gold-plated recycled brass earrings are simple, their uniquely textured, bulbous shape make them a sincere statement.
