Ethical, sustainable, mindful: if three buzzwords could epitomise 2019...

Luckily for us, these
London-based foodie events manage to tactfully fuse all three, and will hopefully provide us with some serious 'gram #eye-candy potential. These are sure to satiate your appetite for unique and exciting food-based happenings, with just enough space for dessert!

Food for Thought Launch at The Curtain
There’s no room for sugarcoating; it’s time to acknowledge fashion's role in producing alarming levels of carbon emissions and textile landfills equally harmful is the food industry. So Gung Ho, London-based sustainable fashion brand, is synthesising the two in sustainable harmony, as he chooses the AW19 season to address the impact food has on the environment.

Their aptly named Food for Thought campaign is launching with an epic, sustainable, 12-course fine-dining experience, with the clothing collection to be modelled by the all-female talent of chefs. Gung Ho, in collaboration with Shoreditch’s The Curtain, are proving that you can have your cake and eat it delicious food and high-quality clothing without sacrificing on ethics.

Gung Ho: Food For Thought Campaign launch, £54.49 on 12 September from 19:00 to 23:00 at The Curtain, 45 Curtain Rd, London, EC2A 3PT.

Bunch and Banquet Floral Workshop with Nice Bunch
An extravagant bouquet should really adorn any afternoon-tea table alongside bite-sized sandwiches and petit-fours. We’re lucky that Nice Bunch Floral Design rose to the occasion, as they are giving us the opportunity to learn the botanical craft and create our very own floral arrangement. All the while being provided with banquet-inspired canapés and requisite tea and coffee. Founder of the company Sula will be giving vital tips along the way, asking you to consider the bouquet's shape and form, colour and scent as well as how to make it last a little longer at home.

Live life in full bloom without skimping on sustainability, as Nice Bunch’s flowers are all locally-sourced, environmentally-friendly and chemical-free. They’ll even “leaf” you with a complementary vase!

Bunch and Banquet with Nice Bunch, £125 on 26 September from 18:30 to 22:30 at The Plant Hub, 217 Mare Street, London, E8 3QE.

Chocolate Meditation and Mindfulness at The Plant Academy
Mindfulness: what does it actually mean? Is it bringing one’s attention to the present moment? Or is it being unequivocally self-aware while indulging in delectable chocolate? We’ll happily take the latter, as the Well Bean Co, plant-based chocolatier, are collaborating with Step-Inside Wellbeing, to host a workshop promoting the importance of 'Feeding your Mind Candy’. In less metaphorical language, this means inspiring positive mental health through food. Learn the craft of chocolateiring, connect with real, exclusively plant-based ingredients, but most importantly, take the time to unwind through mindful meditation, all the while feasting on sustainable chocolate!

Chocolate Meditation and Mindfulness, £45 on 24 October from 18:30 to 21:30 and 24 November from 14:30 to 17:30, at The Plant Hub, 217 Mare Street, London, E8 3QE. Image via planthub.net.
