Rejoice, for Easter is around the corner! The days are getting longer, the chocolate is plentiful and best of all, us Brits get a bank holiday double whammy. Here at Because HQ, we’re sharing our four-day weekend looks.

This bank holiday, I’m swapping knitwear and vitamin D supplements for bikini bottoms and SPF 50. I’m backpacking down Colombia’s Caribbean Coast, where the daily temperature rarely dips below 35 degrees and the humid canopy of the rainforest meets white sand beaches and crystal clear ocean. Balancing my time between jungle hikes, city walks and lounging on a deckchair – spritz in hand – my rucksack will be loaded with lightweight, fast drying and multifunctional summertime staples.

This Gramicci midi skirt folds away into a tiny pouch like a pac-a-mac, perfect for an outfit change after sweaty expeditions through Tayrona National Park. My daily outfit rotation will involve swapping in and out of salty bikini tops and this uber comfy Vuori sports bra – which also doubles as a cute crop top for evenings spent under the starlit beaches of Santa Marta.

In between destinations, I’ll be wearing this easy breezy long-sleeved shirt to keep my sun kissed shoulders protected from any abrasion caused by the straps of my heavy rucksack. On the subject of protection, I’ll be lathering my skin in Dermatica’s SPF 50 Photodamage Defence Sunscreen and popping on this Uniqlo:C sunhat to shield me from the sun’s blazing rays.

Lastly, for a touch of city luxe, (you can take the girl out the city but you can't take the city out of the girl, right?) these newly launched Birkenstock 1774 Arizona leather sandals will look as good strolling the cobbled streets of Cartagena as they will tucked under a dinner table at sunset on one of the city’s many panoramic rooftops.

For me, this Easter bank holiday is a time to shake off the dour drudgery of winter, slap on some sunnies and step into a brand-new life. To kick off my spring rebrand, I’ll be making a solo excursion to the seaside town of Essaouira, former hippie enclave and the gem in the crown of the Moroccan coast. I’m envisioning aligned chakras, glowy skin and a tummy full of tagine upon my return.

I’m a big-time believer in investment luggage: too many holidays have been ruined by shoddy suitcase handles, which always seem to break at the most inopportune moment, straining my arms and my will to live. Thankfully, the unmatched Italian craftsmanship of this Carl Friedrik suitcase will ensure my valuables are kept safe when adventuring through the cobbled streets of the medina. Paying homage to the Majorelle blue paint of Essaouira’s walls, I will don these statement Tom Ford sunglasses, their turquoise-tinted lenses ideal for beautifying a pensive mint tea moment. A pair of New Balance in a darker navy shade will add continuity to the look and ensure I’m comfortable on solitary beach walks, punctuated only by the squawk of a passing seagull and the gentle crash of the waves.

The whipping wind from the Atlantic means Essaouira never reaches the balmy temperature peaks of the inland cities, and I look forward to draping this gorgeous jacket from the AT.KOLLEKTIVE x Kiko Kostadinov collaboration around my shoulders as the sun descends. A hearty spritz of Nasomatto’s Blamage will be the final fragrant flourish. Its formulation, a marriage of familiar wood and unusual musk notes, speaks perfectly to my next chapter, just the same but brand new.

When the debutante season rolled around, Daphne Bridgerton was presented to polite society in the hopes of finding an eligible bachelor. Fast forward 200 years (give or take) and we’ve traded polite society for a pub garden and eligible bachelors for emotionally unavailable skaters. However, this Easter Bank Holiday, much like Daphne, I intend to shine as the diamond, well diamante, of the season.

Easter Bank Holiday marks my first leg shave of the year and so in celebration I shall be donning this ever-so-chic Dunst skirt. While this may be a tad optimistic, the midi-length means I can keep frostbite at bay, while still easing gently into my Spring wardrobe. I know pub gardens don’t require much dressing up, however, my watering hole of choice this bank hols will be East London’s Spurstowe Arms. Intensely stylish and brutally memeified, my Our Legacy camion mules will be the perfect addition to my outfit. In a bid to add some colour, I’ll be pairing my mules with these easter-bunny approved pink Falke socks.

When I’ve finally given up trying to maintain my look, I’ll reach into my wonderfully roomy, Lupe bag by Paloma wool and fish out whatever half-arsed knit I’ve thrown in there. Note to self, can also comfortably fit one bottle of cheap rosé. Floating around in my ludicrously capacious bag will be my Isamaya Beauty lip liner in Buck; this and a lighter, and I could rule the world.

Finally, on Monday morning, when I realise I’ve drank my body weight in Guinness, I’ll be adding spoonfuls of The Beauty Chef’s wellness powder into the gallons of water I intend to down. I’ll renounce drinking, channel Gwenyth Paltrow and will be ready to do it all again next weekend.
