"I guess the theme around these pictures is freedom: freedom of expression, of using colour, of having no limits, of experimenting endlessly and trying new things. I didn’t have an idea in mind, I was inspired by [the model] Ariish; her beauty, her skin and the endless colour possibilities on this amazing canvas."
Sometimes, inspiration is (literally) right in front of you. For global make-up artist Valeria Ferreira, she found this to be the case for her latest beauty story for Because, modelled on Ariish Wol. Completely inspired by the woman that was sitting in the make-up chair in front of her, Valeria created two make-up looks that embrace Ariish's natural beauty – "These images are completely unretouched," says Valeria. "I wanted to see texture, real-ness, the beauty of imperfections; pores, shine." – so gorgeous we couldn't not try them on ourselves.

Look One
"For the first look I thought about the colour of Aloe Vera and how it would translate and read on Ariish's perfect, luscious, ebony skin. The palette is electric green, ebony and cherry."
Valeria used the Danessa Myricks Waterproof Cushion Liner in Kandy Apple and the Armani Lip Maestro Liquid Lipstick in 406 Orient.
Look Two
"Ariish is from a Sudanese background and I find all her stories so captivating and enigmatic. Images of the dessert and red tinted dust clouds kept popping up in my mind for this look."
Valeria used the Danessa Myricks ColourFix 24-Hour Cream Colour in Fruit Punch, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette Vol. One and more specifically Shade D3, the Glossier Pro Tip Liquid Eyeliner and the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Glass Slipper.
On both looks, Ariish is wearing a base comprised of the Augustinus Bader Face Oil, the Beauty Blender Bounce Foundation in 4.75, the Danessa Myricks Illuminating Veil in Queen and the Danessa Myricks Dew Wet Balm in Hot Water, and for her eyebrows, Valeria used the Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer in Ebony 05.
